One of these forehead-slapping moments is when you see that ‘theirselves’ is actually ‘themselves’. This error is a result of the assumption that reflexive pronouns are built by joining a possessive pronoun to the suffix -self or -selves. Although the pattern could construct a rule, it would be folklore grammar.
